[TOOLS] Jessup Brush - 8 Pcs Kabuki Set*

Never get enough of brushes. Well, that’s one point about me. Lately I discover a new brush brand named Jessup, thanks to some of beauty guru on blogger and youtube. Most of them compared Jessup brushes with Sigma Beauty brushes, and said Jessup is almost perfect dupe for Sigma's brushes. With more cheaper price but still offer good quality. Most of them get it from eBay, but there is lot of people sells fake version of this brush. I really don’t get it when some people sells the fake product of this Jessup brushes. I mean this Jessup brushes is already cheap, why there is still people who made and sells the fake version of them. You can click here to see authorized reseller of Jessup. So now this post is about Jessup 8 Pcs Kabuki Brush Set. I got this by participated on giveaway held by @jessupbrush. It’s first time I joined giveaway which requires me to tell the reason why I should be the winner, mostly I joined giveaway which only requires me to  repost the picture ahaha because I’m too lazy to write long caption.

Jessup Brush

Jessup 8 pcs Kabuki Brush Set is available in 4 colors mixed up, and I choose Black color combined with Silver color as this is the most close color with Sigma brush(es) another reason is because until now I never get attracted with Gold color (that’s the reason why I don’t have YSL lipstick too!). In this set you will get 4 big kabuki brushes and 4 small kabuki brushes. The big brushes is similar with Sigma 4 pcs Synthetic Kabuki Kit and the small brushes is similar with Sigma 4 pcs Synthetic Precision Kit. When I received them they were all packaged in individual plastic sleeves in a bubble wrapped brown envelope. Each brush is individually wrapped to keep the bristles stay in the shape. When I take them out one by one I don’t smell something horrible, I mean the smell is normal, wash them up before use will solve that problem. These bristles are made from synthetic. So far. I already washed this brush set fourth times and just few hairs shedding (less than 10, seriously I really count it!).

From this set, it doesn’t comes with labeled handle just the brand printed there, so this set is not suitable for beginner in my opinion (well I’m not saying I’m a pro, it took me few days to know the function of 1 small brush in this set).

Let’s talk about the big brushes first.
The big brushes is comes with individual brush guard to protect the bristles stay in the shape while you storage them or bring them for travelling.
Jessup Brush

Flat Top Kabuki Brush, similar with Sigma F80. I’m using this for liquid or cream products. The bristles is soft on the skin but not as dense as Sigma F80 and it helps me to blend my foundation or bb cream effortlessly. Good for flat area such as forehead and cheek. It doesn’t soak up a lot of product too and leaves no streaky marks!
Jessup Brush
Round Top Kabuki Brush, similar with Sigma F82. The bristles is soft on the skin and it has rounded edges. This brush can be used for liquid foundation, but I’m prefer using this for mineral powder. It gives me natural result
Jessup Brush
Tapered Kabuki Brush, similar with Sigma F86. The bristles is soft on the skin. This one used for more precise application of product, mostly using this for contours my face. This also did a good job for blended concealer under the eyes.
Jessup Brush
Round Top Angled Kabuki Brush. The bristles is soft on the skin. This brush can be used for liquid foundation too, but I’m using this to apply blush and bronzer. It’s really useful in applying and blending out.
Jessup Brush

Next is the small brushes, I pick up Small Flat Top Brush first and asking to myself “is this for eyeshadow?” And then I’m acting like applying eyeshadow, and I was like “whoaaa this is too big for my eyelids!” I was wrong LOL.
Jessup Brush

Small Flat Top Kabuki Brush, similar with Sigma P80. This brush is dense and has flat top which make it good for stippling concealer, sunspots, cover blemishes, applying powder on small area and other imperfections (so that’s why it’s to big on my eyelids).
Jessup Brush
Small Round Top Kabuki Brush, similar with Sigma P82. This brush is dense and has round top. I’m using this for under eyes concealer or apply eyeshadow.
Jessup Brush
Small Round Top Angled Kabuki Brush. This brush is good for contouring hollows of the cheeks, sides of nose, also I’m using this to blend eyeshadow.
Jessup Brush
Small Tapered Kabuki Brush, similar with Sigma P86. This brush is soft and dense. Mostly I’m using this to contour my nose also can be used for apply concealer under eyes and highlight brow bone.
Jessup Brush

From this set, I have 3 favorites, it is Flat Top Kabuki Brush, Round Top Angled Kabuki Brush and Small Tapered Kabuki Brush.

This brush set also easy to wash. But don’t use hair dryer to make it dry because it will damage the bristles.

Overall, this brush set is a pretty good steals to add onto your collection with price less than $20 (based on ebay price), seriously this is such a great value with pretty good quality. All the brush is soft and less shedding. The shape is still looks as good as new even after you washed it. For beginner, my recommendation is Jessup 15 Face and Eye Brush Set is more suitable since that brush is comes with labeled handle so it will helps you to know the function of each brush, also that is a complete kit for face and eyes and other reason is the price is more cheaper than Masami Shouko brush set.
