[REVIEW] City Color – Contour EffectsMonday, August 10, 2015
It’s strobing era now, but I don’t join the hype hmm not yet. I still prefer contouring to make my face look more dimensional. So, now I want to share my current contour kit that I’ve been using since March.
When I purchased the kit it’s only available in 1 shade, a week after I purchased this, they release the brush too and few weeks later City Color release another shade kit but the color is look more lighter.

Price on the official website is $13.99 , but I remember this one was on sale and the price was under $10 few months ago. In Indonesia you can find this on online shop with price start from Rp 99.000 – Rp 110.000 .
The packaging is comes in black matte cardboard magnetic type, and it’s thin. I like the color packaging, black color made it look elegant and professional and not make it looks cheap, but it not sturdy. I once dropped this, and then when I opened it, you can see what happened…
First time when I received this, above the contour pan was covered up with plastic not the whole packaging.
You can see ingredients list on the back and this product only last for 12 months after first time you use this. I’m not sure I can finish this within 12 months since I don’t do full makeup every day especially contouring my face, I only do contouring when I have more free time.
I’m sure this contour kit is suitable for beginner as you see on the picture below it show you how to use the contour, bronzer and highlight.
I follow the instruction written there, but for highlight I only use it above the cheeks because I feel it’s just too shimmery for other area such as above the cupid and brow or maybe because I pick too much product.
This contour kit is powder type. I don't smell something weird from this, it's just like normal smell of product which comes in powder type. When I touch the pan it feel so soft and buttery, some people face major fall out when picked it up with brush but I only see minor fall out (I’m using brush from Jessup) I think it’s depend on the brush. Contour and bronzer are matte and Highlight is shimmery. It’s really pigmented but still easy to blend, but I think its better if you apply it with small amount first and then you can build it up. It's my tips if you are bad at blending
*like how I was*, because it won't look natural if you not blend it right.
The contour is don't have reddish undertone and I feel it's the right shade for me. Sometimes the bronzer really match my face skintone so it's multifunction so I can use it as bronzer too LOL, it happens when I was having outdoor activity and forget to reapply sunblock. Sometimes I use the bronzer to tone down my foundation and powder color that look too light on me. The contour last for 3 hours on nose area but stay for 9 hours on other area, it's because my nose area is reallyyyyy oily.
*Will try to show the step or application later, when weather here get better*
What I like :
+ The packaging is thin.
+ Suitable for beginner.
+ Super pigmented.
+ Easy to blend.
+ Last long.
What I dislike :
- Not sturdy
- Not travel friendly
